Seth - thanks for the reply.
It was acting up before I messed with the LFT, which was at the default setting. Currently, when I turn the device on it has no green LED with no tracking and the 4 small red LEDs in the middle. This was the same no matter what I did with the LFT setting. F9 showed the two large red LEDs on the sides worked in pause mode. After several minutes the device started working and the green LED appeared. At lower LFT settings including the default, the screen looked exactly like Juzwick's screenshot he posted earlier. At that point there was no green LED and no tracking. At higher LFT settings the screen changed to a solid red blob that was the outline of my head and shoulders as you indicated can happen, and though I was sitting dead center in front of the camera, it showed me far to the right side of the screen, even after hitting F12 to center it. At that setting, the tracking was all over the place. I can't show you a screenshot of the differences because at this point the device has frozen. Upon restart, there is no green LED and no tracking again. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software and unplugged the device and plugged it back in. Device manage says the device is working properly and Status = Detected and connected.

[update] Just turned on the device and it worked like there was nothing wrong . . . for 3 minutes, and then it froze.

James -
Unfortunately what you are describing sounds like there is a failure occurring with your TrackIR. The red screens indicate a problem with the imager, so while the camera can still communicate with your PC it is not giving it good information to work with and cannot follow your TrackClip. If you have had it for 2 years it is out of warranty, but if you email me your serial number (please don't post it in the forum) I can double check for you. jeff@naturalpoint.com

Hi Jeff,
I have the same problem of Navarone like you see in the "Possible broken camera..." 3D.
Can I send to you my serial number also?
Thanks

Hello,

I have a problem with my TrackIR 5. I installed the software first and connected the TrackIR 5 after the installation was done...
The TrackIR is registred in windows 7 64x and installed correctly. It shows up in the device manager as well.

When i execute the TrackIR Software the Device only shows up two orange/red leds all the time. It doesnt seems to detect my track clip anymore...

Tried to change the USB port, also tried on a second machine with the same result... The device worked without any problems a few days ago...

What could that be? Any suggestions...?

A re-install of the software didnt help...

I send you my serial number of the device as well...

Thanks in advance.

Both LEDs being orange means it is paused. The default hotkey is F9, but you can also click the word Pause down at the bottom right of the TrackIR software.

Hey Jeff,

that was my first intention too but thats not the problem... I can hit F9 as often as i like and nothing changes... The little indicator in the right corner of the toggles but the TrackIR device keep showing the 2 orange LEDs.
The TrackIR is connected and recognized by the software (it shows the serial etc.) but the TrackIR doesnt work at all. As soon as i open the TrackIR Software it switches to this mode.

Is it possible that the TrackIR can stay in paused position because of any other reason than it is paused? I tried reinstalling the software a few times... also tried to switch to version 4 (Software) with the same result...

Maybe you can suggest anything else... I already ran out of options... :(

Would it be possible to try it on another system?

Hi,
I have the same problem.
The camera shows red lines that flicker all over it and the Tracking is just not possible. the tracker rotates constantly all over the place. When the LFT reaches about 225 it tries to track but it still flickers uncontrollably as soon as i move my head a little bit. Everything above or beneath this threshold is completely uncontrollable.
the higher the threshold gets the less red lines flicker, but it is nor usable, because of the flickering and interference like behavior.

I played with the sliders all day but nothing helped. I turned off every light in the room and shut the window lids so that no sunlight could get in.

Is the camera gone or am I doing something wrong?

I'm using Win8 64 and plugged the camera on a single USB Port.
