Hello all,
I am really interested in purchasing TrackIR and using it with Skyrim. I noticed it's "not" supported now. However, there are videos of people using TrackIR with Skyrim. How is it at this moment? Is it usable? Or is it completely ignoring to play like that? If you move your head, do you only look around in that direction or do you move in that direction as well. Say, you are running and you want to check your lefts and rights with TrackIR, are you able to do this without running in that directions? Could I use this in third person mode in Skyrim?
Thread that didn't look promising:

Re: Interested in TrackIR & Skyrim
People using TrackIR with Skyrim are using mouse emulation, which means the head movement functions exactly as your mouse otherwise would, sans the clicking. It's not really how TrackIR is primarily designed to function, but some users get a kick out of it nonetheless. The mouse emulation utility is sort of a bonus tool--not the core product.
An official integration would separate view from maneuvering/aiming, so you could run in one direction with mouse/keyboard while simultaneously swiveling your view with your head movements. This behavior generally requires a game dev to implement our API in an official capacity.

Re: Interested in TrackIR & Skyrim
pity bethesda are so pig headed as to deny such a beautiful game the head swiveling imersion it deserves. As gaming advances so should the controls, it should be mandatory to add support for such devices as Track IR in all 3d applications. The real question is WHY NOT? surely this would improve sales, and that should be reason enough. Satisfy your communities desires!

Bethesda has had a long-standing posture that doesn't make much room for third-party device integration. I'm not sure why, but it's nothing new with that particular dev.
