Hi from Spain.
I have 8 cameras FLEX V100 RS, with secuential serial number. One of them crashed to the floor and is not workink anymore.
I have another 4 FLEX V100 RS cameras in another system, the serial numbers of these 4 cameras are secuential to the other 8, so the i supose the cams are basically the same.
So i get one camera of this 4 and substitute the broken one. Then i reorder the place of all cameras in concordance to the serial numbers. But the system is not working. The cameras sometimes show their numbers on the led, not always. But the calibration with otion captor 5.65 is impossible. When calibrating the cams there is always a freeze.
So my questions are:
If i use the substituting camera the system would work?.
Or is impossible to the system to work with a substituted cam?.
Thanks.

You should be able to mix those cameras. Can you describe the wiring of your setup a bit more? Are they all plugged into OptiHubs or regular USB hubs, are you using any USB extension cables, are you using sync cables, etc?
Re: Substituting one camera of eight with another cam.
Thanks, im using 8 cameras, with two regular hubs DLINK, and we're using 2 USB extension cables. Were using sync cables from camera 1 to camera 2, all conextions have been revised exhaustively. Weve tried all configurations, 4 cams to one hub and 4 cams to another hub, and then the two HUBS to PC, 3 cams to USB HUB, 3 cams to USB HUBS, then the 2 hubs to pc and to cameras more to PC, then we have tried 4 cameras directly to pc and then 2 cams to HUB and to pc and other 2 cams tu HUB and to PC... All combinations with/without extension. Everythings fails in no obvious order, it fails randomly, all combinations. The problem is that this is the equipment that we we're sold from our seller in Spain. One year ago, it worked well, it start well, it calibrates well, and it do the motion capture well. But now it is impossible to calibrate (when it works). And our manteinance contract with the seller is over for a year so we dont have any tech support.
Ive tried all combinations, cams, hubs, extensions cables... And have tested it all and it is not working any more. Weve also tried with another similar PC, we've installed the drivers, we have then instaled the soft with the key, and we are having the same problem. Any ideas?
Thanks a lot.

Re: Substituting one camera of eight with another cam.
I see you only mentioned a sync cable between two of the cameras, do you have more in there? Try connecting 2 cameras with sync cables between the two, into one hub with no extensions cables. If that works try adding the 3rd with sync cable, and then again with the forth. Generally problems with the numbering comes from an issue with the sync cabling, you may have a bad cable somewhere.
Re: Substituting one camera of eight with another cam.
Im sorry!. i made a mistake, i meant i have cable syncs in the correct way, from camera 1 to camera 8, all ins and outs jacks revised, you know, 1 out to 2 in, 2 out to 3 in... 7 out to 8 in. Sync cables are ok. Sorry for the confusion

If you start with only 2 cameras and verify that they are recognized and being numbered properly, then add one camera at a time how many cameras are you able to get working?
