Trackir not tracking

I have TrackIR 5 with the hat clip. I can not look up and to the right or left w/o it stop tracking. If i look at all to the right or left and 25 degrees up then the green light on the left side of the trackir goes out and it stop tracking.

I've tried readjusting my hat clip, and different lighting in the room. Nothing seems to help. Whenever I look more than 25 degrees up and left or right ~10 degrees the tracking stops. Anyone know how to fix this?

This could be an issue with the positioning of the TrackIR. How big is your monitor? Where is the TrackIR located? How far from the monitor are you? How far from the TrackIR?
