I've had the TrackIR 5 for 2 days (without the TrackClipPro). Yesterday it worked fine - I didn't need to be in constant motion for it to work perfectly. Today if I don't move my head for approx 1 to 2 seconds the green light on the left goes out. It then blinks rapidly and sporadically whether or not I move my head, and in-game my character looks around everywhere. Very choppy visuals, making the unit unusable.
I've adjusted and readjusted the unit's position and angle, as well as my chair height, for over an hour now but the unit still loses my position. Perhaps this helps: With the unit directly in front of me at the perfect height - meaning I can look up and down 90 degrees - I can lean out to 50 degrees on my right before it loses me, but only to 10 degrees on the left before it loses me. I've readjusted positions and retested several times, and the farthest I could lean left was 15% while still being able to lean 45 degrees to my right.
I've tried three different usb ports, two 2.0 and one 3.0 with the same results. Not sure what else I could try.
TIA for the help.

Re: Tracking is intermittent
Hello whiskeytango,
The limitations on moving left or right could be caused by the tracking object being blocked. If you are using the TrackClip PRO you would want to offset the camera to the left so it is directly aimed at the LEDs. As for the shakiness and sporadic tracking. It sounds to me like your problems are caused from light interference. When you select the camera view from the display drop down. What do you see? Are there red dots? How many objects is it tracking?

Re: Tracking is intermittent
You're right, Mike. It was light interference. (I figured it out shortly after submitting this post.) I have two light sources behind my PC at the far end of the room, about 16' away: A covered 40-watt bulb at the rear right, about 5' above the floor pointing upwards, that doesn't affect the unit. The other is a lamp with five uncovered 40-watt bulbs to my rear left - those light sources were the culprit.
User error! The unit works as advertised. And thanks for the response. Situational awareness is important in Arma games, and FWIW I'm enjoying the TrackIR 5 immensely.
