DIY Wireless track clip pro and a TrackIR 5

I'm looking to build my own wireless track clip pro using a Li-Ion battery pack and IR Led's. My question is I want to get the maximum life out of the battery pack so I wish to pulse modulate the LED's. Can anybody tell me what is the Maximum/ Minimum frequency and duty cycle I can use with my TrackIR 5 system and what is the recommended wave length and viewing angle for the IR led's.
