I'm running version 5.2.2 with a TrackIR4 on a Windows 7 x64 setup, and I can't get the TrackIR software to run at startup even with the box checked in the config menu. I have tried without success both in user level and administrator level accounts.
Additionally, I cannot get the hotkeys (like recenter) to work unless a display other than TrackIR is active. For example, if I open the TrackIR software and attempt to recenter, nothing will happen. Then if I open another window and make that other window primary, TrackIR will recenter in the background.
I have a feeling that these issues are somehow related to administrator privileges, but any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Hello HomeFries,
It sounds to me like the start up problems are related to administrative privileges. When installing the software are you launching from the prompt, or are you right-clicking the installer and running it as an administrator? Have you altered the properties of the program to run as an administrator by right-clicking the application’s shortcut, and then selecting properties. In the properties dialog box, select the compatibility tab. Select the "Run This Program As An Administrator" check box, and then click OK. Have you tried to have the software run at startup by using the Task Scheduler option of Windows 7?
As for your issue with the hotkeys, I would like you to start a ticket with me at help.naturalpoint.com. I am going to have to look into this issue more.
Regards,

Re: TrackIR 5.2.2 won't "Run at Startup"
Thanks, Mike.
I uninstalled and reinstalled both using an administrator level account and user account, and tried both installing using "Run as Administrator" and not. In no case was I able to enable TrackIR to load on startup, though it was added to msconfig. I was able to get it working with the Task Manager, though I need to input the admin password on startup.
Ironically, the recentering issue appeared to solve itself with re-installation of 5.2.2; I won't look this gift horse in the mouth.
I realize that as of 5.2 the TrackIR software requires administrator privileges, but it seems that with other programs such as DCS World and EF2000 Reloaded that I have to run the sim as administrator in order for TrackIR to enter enhanced mode. Is this normal?

Re: TrackIR 5.2.2 won't "Run at Startup"
HomeFries,
I would use the task scheduler option in Windows to make TrackIR run at startup. UAC has a habit of blocking access to some things. Glad to hear that the re-center issue has been resolved.
There are times where two programs need to be ran at the same permission level for it to be possible that they interact. That is why when you run some simulations or games they need to be at an elevated permission level in order to work with TrackIR.
