I'm new to TrackIR and have just purchased TrackIR to use with Elite. I've downloaded a profile for the game to use and am having a heck of a time trying to figure out why I can not see that profile in the drop-downs of Profiles or Titles.
I am running software version 5.2. I run windows 7 64-bit.
I have placed the profile xml in the following location:
C:\Program Files (x86)\NaturalPoint\TrackIR5\Profiles
But I just do not see it in the drop-downs either under the Profiles tab or in Elite Dangerous in the Titles tab. I can create my own new profile just fine and it works and is saved to the above folder... but the one I've downloaded just won't show up.
Any ideas on what I might be overlooking? Thanks in advance.
Oh, also I want to run my TrackIR and Elite on my 75 inch dlp TV, but I'm not sure where to place the camera. I've got a Playseat and sit about 5 feet away from the TV and the top of the TV (about the only place I can think of to mount the camera) is about 2 feet above my head when sitting in the Playseat. With the camera in that spot (even angled a bit downward), the green dots in the Camera View are quite a bit above center. Is there any way to offset anything to get the dots closer to center, or is my situation just unworkable?

Re: TrackIR 5 Not Seeing Profiles
Hello StratonAce,
The profile you downloaded is likely not formatted correctly, or there was an issue with the download. My first suggestion would be to re-download the file and try again. If that doesn't work I would like you to post the link so I can take a look at the profile and offer a more specific solution.
As for the camera placement, that question is a little but trickier. Sitting 5 feet away it should work fine. What concerns me is the 2 foot height difference, essentially you want to have the camera and TrackClip or TrackClip PRO level with each other. Having it that much higher could cause it to track incorrectly. On my setup, I'm a little further away, but I mounted the camera behind me put the TrackClip PRO facing backwards and inverted the settings. You should be able to adjust the settings accordingly, but I can't make any guarantees because it is out of the optimal settings. If you have any trouble with setting it up, please start a ticket with me at help.naturalpoint.com and we can troubleshoot your setup.

Re: TrackIR 5 Not Seeing Profiles
Thanks for the reply Mike.
I've downloaded the xml file several times.
Here is a direct link to the xml file...
https://www.dropbox.com/s/b0tyg6iwyvircc9/Elite4_1.xml
And here is the forum thread where it comes from...
http://forums.frontier.co.uk/showpost.p ... ostcount=1
I've noticed that if you right click and choose "Save As" you end up with a file that is 63 KB in size. If you left click the link you are taken to a DropBox page where you can download the file and from there it gives you a file that is smaller at about 5 KB in size.
I'm assuming that the smaller version is the correct size. Regardless, I have downloaded and tried both and neither one shows up.

Re: TrackIR 5 Not Seeing Profiles
StratonAce,
I downloaded it just fine and it worked for me, but I noticed that the profile is named Elite. The file you download is Elite4_1, but if you open the .XML with notepad, you can see that the name is Elite and change it there if you would like. The TrackIR software will show what is labeled as the name in the .XML file, not what the file itself is named. To eliminate any confusion I would change one or the other to make sure they match. If you open the .XML are you seeing it titled as Elite and does it show up in your profile drop down as Elite?
