TrackIR 5 drifting...

Post by Uberwolfe »

Hi all,

So I just got my TrackIR 5, have it set up nicely and am slowly becoming used to it.

My only issue - and it's a big one - is that it seems to drift slightly.

This is not due to involuntary head movements as I have read on the forums already. Watching the TrackIR graph views it will slowly show my head pitching when I can assure my head is not moving at all.

I fly the 737 NG in FSX and this drifting makes it impossible for me to flick certain switches on the overhead panels and radio panel etc.

I have found that giving my head a tiny "flick" in the opposite direction of the drift seems to fix the issue but this is less than ideal. I am getting a sore neck from always having to correct the drift when I imagined the view should be staying perfectly still....

Please help as this is seriously preventing me from enjoying the TrackIR...

Uberwolfe,

Is there anyway you could post a video of this happening? Both in game and in TrackIR if possible. It would be extremely helpful.

Thanks for your response Mike.

Unfortunately I have no capture software, or any camera (besides my phone).

I will look at doing this when I have time. Do you by chance have anything to suggest in the interim?

Many thanks,
Lukas

Hello again,

If you would like I could remote in using TeamViewer and see the problem first hand. Though if you would like that option I would need you to create a ticket at help.naturalpoint.com so we can schedule a time that works for both of us. This problem, I would need to see in order to even start suggesting solutions.
