FSX crashes constant with Trackir 5

Post by aarbee »

Hello,

Whenever I fly from A to B without Trackir, I can fly my schedules without any incident.
But when I want to fly while using Trackir, I am getting constant, black screens, lockups, or even bluescreens.

I attach the latest blue screens. (I had 3 black screens and 2 blue screens on one afternoon, after 1-1.5 hours of usage.)

Any tips?

Thanks RobB

Specs
Running FSX SP2.
Trackir 5.2.200 (running as admin)
Nvidia 780 GTX
Intel 2600K
16GB Kingston HyperX
SSD for startup.

aarbee,

Looking into your BSOD and it leads me to a driver failure. I am not sure how it would be related to the use of TrackIR, but what kind of sound card and motherboard are you using?

Thanks for the reply,

I thought it was related to the soundcard too, but I got no bsod or blackscreens or ctd, when I am not using TrackIR.

My soundcard is a ASUS Xonar DB.
And I have downloaded the drivers from the website.

I see that you also asked for the mainboard.
I do not know the exact model.
But from what I remember:
MSI p67 B3 stepping.
I have switched off the soundcard, in the BIOS, and uninstalled the drives, just before doing that.

the ASUS Xonar is a PCI version.

aarbee,

There are problems with the Xonar sound cards that link directly to that BSOD. Instead of downloading drivers from the site, have you tried removing what you have and using the original disk to install the drivers packaged with it?

I suppose you are right. (read something the other day).

But problem is, I do not have that CD.
Not sure, wether it was ever in the box, or that it got missing, while I had it put aside, as I bought the soundcard as a reserve for my Xonar DS2, from which I still have the driver CD.

Advice? By a new one? Soundblaster?

Thanks,

I have uninstalled the drivers, and the complete soundcard.
And I have been looking around, and found an old Soundblaster Audigy, for which Soundblaster, never was going to create Windows Vista drivers, let stand Windows 7.
So when all the people had bought a new card, they probably created the new drivers. ;)

Lets hope I am not getting issues.

To be honest, I had more BSODS with the other D2X card, but not more then 2-3 per year, from which I suspected that the Asus soundcard was the culprit.

BTW the drivers for the D2X did not work for the DG.

Thanks,
