Any Upgrade Incentives?

Post by Phalcon51 »

Are there, or will there soon be, any incentives for purchasers of the earlier (original?) version of trackIR to upgrade to the newest version? I bought my unit a few months ago, but it sounds like there's been quite a few improvements in the new model. I'd like to get the latest one, but can't really justify paying full pop for it. Can the older units be sent in and physically upgraded, or would they just have to be replaced?

If you bought it a few months ago, it is the exact same hardware. It hasnt changed in awhile. Does yours have a clear case? If so, you've got the latest hardware available.

Hello:

We do make small changes to the hardware on a fairly regular basis. Some of the very old units, over 1 year ago, would notice a difference to the new ones, but if you have a clear case then I wouldn't worry about it yet.

We will be coming out with new hardware in the future that will add even more functionality, so save your money for now. Version 2.0 software is a free download and that will be a very big improvement to all hardware.

Actually, mine has the solid black plastic case with the adhesive-backed rubber feet (which have slipped about halfway off already). Any way to get the new style slip-on feet? Anyhow, I guess it's older than I thought. I believe I bought it in about July last year. Haven't used it much because I couldn't get it to work smoothly or center properly in the game. Would the new clear-case one work better with the new software, especially with IL-2 FB?

I would hold onto the current unit you have. I think that it should perform fine in IL-2 FB. If you think that it is performing different than others post, when FB comes out, then just email us for a trade in.
