Need Some Suggestions

Post by Nimits »

My problem is, the motion presets that come with the software are a little to jittery in the front 45 degrees, but do not allow full range of view in the rear sectors, while the Il-2FB profile I downloads allows good all around view but is WAY to fast. What are some good values of the motion curve for IL-2FB that I can base a profile off of?

Thanks.

I prefer low sensitivity near the front so I can shoot steady and increase only gradually until I'm looking just behind the wing where it speeds up quickly. This way I can do quick, full six checks without breaking my neck and still be able to hold steady looking off the wing on either side for scanning the skies.

Generally, all you need to do this is adjust your sensitivity in the Motions tab so that (in the X plane) the curve looks like a bowl where the centre has zero or very low sensitivity and gradually increase to the edges. You'll need to tweak this to suit your taste by jumping back and forth to the game until you get it where you like it.

Also it's very important to make sure your dot is tracked across as much of the Tracking screen is possible, at least left and right! Otherwise you will not get enough positional data to the receiver and have to make up for it bey increasing your speed. This essentially means a loss of precision in game which is sort of like cutting off 10 or 20 fps from your graphics capabilities!

The closer the dot is to the receiver the better (I prefer about 15-20 inches) and make sure it can still see the dot when you look at the edges of your screen.

Good luck!
