Updating rigid bodies after changing labels

Post by MtRoot »

Hi,

How do I update the rigid body position and orientation after changing the labels of the markers included in the rigid body?
Say I swap the labels of two mislabeled markers- I'd think that the rigid body orientation should change, but apparently it's not updated at least automatically.

I'm using Motive:Tracker 1.9.0.

Thanks,
MtRoot

Hello MtRoot,

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding this issue. As of Motive 1.9.0, updating rigid body markers will not cause a change in the rigid body's tracking data.

This workflow is currently being addressed and should be fixed in our next Motive releases.

Best regards,
Steven

Steven,

Thanks for the reply.
So do you mean that there is no way to improve the rigid body data once the data has been acquired?

Is there a workaround?
I don't mind a bit of manual work.

Thanks,
MtRoot

Hi MtRoot,

That is correct. There is currently no way to improve the rigid body data once it is captured.

Well, that is partially true. You can run the Reconstruct and Auto Label on the take again after adjusting rigid body and reconstruction settings. You can also delete and recreate the rigid body with a different subset of the markers that were being used if certain ones are causing you problems. This all requires running automated algorithms on the take again, however, as opposed to editing and improving the marker data to update the rigid body solve.

Editing rigid body data is a high priority for us in our upcoming beta releases, so keep an eye out for Motive 1.10 Beta 1, which may very well contain a fix for this.

Cheers,
Steven
