Use that CD as a coaster and download version 2 of the TrackIR software! As with most hardware these days, by the time you buy it the drivers on the supplied CD are already a few revisions out of date especially the TIR software due to the fast rate of development.

CDs and temparature-issues ?

Post by Retro »

Hi,

Ive (tried to) installed XP today, had to swap lots of cds and my cdrom (asus s500 I think its called) got quite hot... after installing the NP software I took the cd out of the drive and noticed that the (printed) upper side was kind of 'sticky' - I could even make out my fingerprints, and can do this still as a matter of fact... so Im a bit concerned that the surface (or rather the underlying reflection-layer) got damaged... any comments ?

Edit: the cd is trackIR GX version 1.21
