Anybody Use this on FS 2002

Post by byoung »

Just wondering if anyone has used this device on Flight Simulator 2002...

How does it work and what video card and /or other equipment do you have...

I've been using it for several months. I consider it a must have. If your really interested there is a program called Active Camera Pro version 1.3 {freeware}. What it does is allow you to pan around the vc with the mouse. The track ir will let you do the the same except that you can use your head to pan freely, it's like looking around naturally.

I have 3d glasses and I've attched the dot to the glasses. The affect is amazing.

Also, with active camera, there is a feature called head latency, If I put track ir in FPS mode the head latency will allow your virtual head to slosh around while panning with track ir.

I really wish there were a special .dll file that would couple track ir and acp better. Or, add the head latency feature to track ir.

When I'm in fs2002 mode the head latency doesn't seem to work as well. When I'm in FPS mode I have to use the mouse to keep centering the view, and if I move the mouse pointer to the edge of the screen and then back to center, the centering is off, also in this mode the pointer will not disappear.

I'm sure once more folks get these two products going there will be better compatibility.

I'm running an AMD 1900xp with a GeForce3 ti 500.

Anyway I hope this helps,
Rex

I've had FS 2002 for as long as my track unit and only today did I try the .DLL for the virtual cockpit and - WOW!
I thought Il-2 was good but the specialised DLL makes it so much better i.e. no need to recentre your view every couple of view pans.
I did the standard flight at dusk over Hong Kong and the view was incredible.
This is a must have device for all you FS nuts!
