My new TrackIR doesn't work for me in FS2004
The problem is that, well, it does nothing. It tracks (according to the LED on the front) but nothing in the game moves. It works (wonderfully!) in IL2:FB. FS2004 does not appear on "Assign Autoload Profiles" list (only IL2:FB, BoB and SF:Project1 appear, I thought there was about 15?!). I have Windows 2000 SP4.
I just got a new TrackIR set and installed the 2.11b drivers (after uninstalling the CD ones, whatever version they are). I selected FS2004 from the install menu and it said it couldn't find it's location (strangely enough a free addon I got with FS2004 also said this, it is a legal, properly installed copy) so I told it where to go.
I did this twice - first time I said D:\Games\Flight Simulator 9\ and when that didn't work, I went through the installer and unselected FS2004. Then I went through again and selected D:\Games\Flight Simulator 9\MODULES as I noticed it put in the MODULES directory for the default install dir. Neither place worked.

TrackIR fails in FS2004
Re: TrackIR fails in FS2004
OK, it works now after a complete wipe and reinstall. I guess the install-half uninstall-half install thing didn't work too well.
Re: TrackIR fails in FS2004
TRACKIR with 2.11beta2 (and I hear beta4) works fine for both MSFS2002 and 2004 for me. In both cases, I dont have MSFS installed in the default locations, but instead on a secondary drive. All on WinXP Home SP1.
If you go look in your MSFS2004/MODULES folder and find the TIR installed file: TrackIRFS2004.DLL
If its not there, then you have an installation problem with TIR. You might want to just copy the above file into your MSFS' MODULE folder if you can find that new TIR file. And try it again to see if TIR works.
If it is there, and TIR still doesnt work, then its likely to be a TIR profile or setup issue.

Re: TrackIR fails in FS2004
I could't get TrackIR to work properley either until I realised I hadn't put it into the MODULES folder. Now it works fine.
However, I still don't have FS2004 in my "Assign Autoload Profiles". What gives there?
Every time I start up FS2004 I get a warning message about TrackIR not being compatible. However, I beleive there is a fix in this advise (haven't had a chance to try it yet):
Add the following lines to the fs9.cfg file
[OldModules]
name of dll=1

Re: TrackIR fails in FS2004
I get those 2 problems too. That fix didn't work - when I put in the lines and loaded the game up it still asked if I want to load it and when I then quit FS2004, fp9.cfg was modified to remove those lines. I did a search and it turned out that it was already there - I changed the one to zero but that made no noticable difference.
