FS9 Key mapping

Post by anthonye »

Hi

I have just received the Pro 3 today, it's amazing, and thanks to Bob at RC Simulations UK for convincing me.

I have not yet re-mapped the keys for centre, enable, mode, and precision. The default seem to disable the flaps etc and f9 for fsnav. Could anyone recommend what to map the keys to so I don't disable the default fs9 keys.

Thanks
Anthony

I must be as thick as a brick.
I have only purchased the Trackir3 Pro two days ago. (Australian Dist) All went smoothly for install. I have read the manual but I'm dammed if I can figure out how to use the hotkey program. I would like to be able to use the snap views in MSFS9 like I would use the hat sw. on my joystick.
Maybe I'm too old for this new technology.
Help is needed.
The device looks great & operates in VC mode really well.
Kind regards,
Hook.

Hook,

I knew this question would come up when I least expected it.

Are you trying to use the snap views in 2D cockpits?

If YES there is a way to do this, and it is somewhere on this forum, I have sat here for the last 20 minutes try to think what changes have to be made in Flight Sim for you to use the 2D cockpits.

Please have a look, and if you can not find it please let me know.

Thanks Wayne for you prompt reply,
yes you guessed right, & I found the previous posting but they don't give details, he figured it out using trackmapper, but they are younger then me so that would explain it. I had to get my niece to show me how to send text messages on my mobile so I am a bit behind the eightball!
A step by step for dummies would be useful 4 me & probably others of my agegroup.
Great product Mate,
kind regards,
Hook.

Hi Hook !

I sympathise with you. I'm also pretty clueless when it comes to programming the new TR3.

I've managed to get it working, but not to my liking. Doing some research on this excellent forum.

I also would like to know how to program the TR3 for viewing 2D cockpits in FS9.

I second your request for a "Step by step" for Dummies method too

Hopefully there is a kind someone out there who will "Take pity" on us "Older Folk" and come up with a simplified solution.

Thanks for suggesting this matter on the forum anyway.

Regards

Hi Wayne.

I think that it is great that you take the time and trouble to skim the forums.

I didn't like to ask you because I thought that you are pretty busy .

Thankyou for your input re 2D cockpit views. I will try this tonite.

I have been experimenting with the profile for FS 2004 with limited success. I tried to adapt the profile 4.3.2 on Page 23 of the manual

On the forums you sometimes send out profiles to help simmers.

Do you have a nice slow easy panning profile for FS2004 ?

I am very pleased with the TRACKIR concept, it has increased my enjoyment of flight sim immensly.

Wayne, Thankyou again for taking the time to reply to my question on the forum. I am impressed with the level of service and interest that you take in your profession.

Kindest Regards.

Hi Wayne!

Don't really want to be a nuisance but I cannot find the line "Pan_in_cockpit_mode=1" in my FS9 cfg File. I've scrolled through the file three times. Am I missing something here?

No hurry for answers - I'm really enjoying TRACKIR.

Hope to hear from you when you have time.

Kindest Regards.

Parse,

Under normal circumstances TrackIR should only work in the virtual cockpit, however you can manipulate the FS9 config file to also use the 2D cockpits.

Find the FS9.cfg and alter "Pan_in_cockpit_mode=1" instead of zero.
