If your picture is jumping while using TrackIR and Active Camera with FS2004 do the following:
1. In FS2004, Go to 'Options' then select 'ActiveCamera 2004'.
2. Remove the check mark which is next to 'Internal Pilot View'.
3. Issued should be fixed at this point.

Re: Using Active Camera? Read Here.
Thanks, but doesn't this make AC2004 useless?
Re: Using Active Camera? Read Here.
First of all TrackIR generates its own head latency, which is natural. If Active Camera 2004 is installed its head latency is counteracting with TrackIRs natural head movement (one program is fighting the other).
If you use TrackIR along with Active Camera 2004 then simply disable the Active Camera 2004 head latency option - which then makes an interesting use of the view presets, which is a nice complement to TrackIR.
In Spot plane view Active Camera 2004 and TrackIR are working perfectly together. The same can be said for external pilot view (easy to pan with TrackIR and walk with the number pad keys).

I still do not understand this and cannot get it to work. I started a thread some months ago regarding this and have asked this same exact question on a variety of forums, but no one (even the people who seem to have gotten it to work) can supply an answer. In Spot plane view Active Camera 2004 and TrackIR are working perfectly together. The same can be said for external pilot view (easy to pan with TrackIR and walk with the number pad keys).
Merely disabling the head latency in Active Camera does not enable TIR availability in Spot/External views.
...and I'd love to find out how to do it.
Re: Using Active Camera? Read Here.
I've never done any testing with it myself. I'll see if I can find some info.....

Much obliged for this. I'd really love to know if all this is, indeed, possible.
Thanks again for all your help.
Re: Using Active Camera? Read Here.
Just resurrecting this thread from a week ago. Still no word and I can't seem to find anyone in the flightsim world who can actually verify if Spot/External pilot view with the TrackIR (in tandem with Active Camera) actually works in practice and can supply instruction on how to do so.I've never done any testing with it myself. I'll see if I can find some info.....
Re: Using Active Camera? Read Here.
i have the exact situation, I've also tried Walk and Follow instead of Active Cam: does not work!
Same with TIRMouse, which can only move the mouse, but not the view in the exteriour view
It's a quiet strange situation, since there are tons of videos clearly showing that they're using trackir in the exteriour view, however.. i cant get it working

Are they FS9 videos, or FSX videos?

Hi,
I want to make it work as well. Unsuccessful so far. Have you tried starting FS9 first and then starting Track ir?
