TrackIR5 not able to track Trackclip

Have been using my TrackIR5 with the trackclip for about 3 years, and just a few days ago, it was no longer able to track the trackclip past 30cm from the camera. Past 30cm, the status lights start rapidly blinking on and off and the software page shows the 3 tracking dots flash rapidly as well until they turn all red. Is there anyway to solve this or it it time to get a new one?
