2.01b FB/enhanced mode problem

I've had no problems running 2.x software with 'mouse' mode, but in 2.0 found the range of the trackIR 'enhanced' mode to be less than I wanted and/or slower than I wanted.

Now, with the 2.01b (latest beta), I am have problems with enhanced mode.

Specifics:
-if I launch FB with mouse mode selected, it works fine, albeit in mouse mode
-if I launch with FB set up in NaturalPoint as 'trackIR enhanced' mode, the IR tracks (ie. lights up) but the cursor doesn't move, whether in menus or in flight
-if I launch in mouse mode and switch to ir-enhanced mode once I'm flying, I get less than 10 seconds of tracking and then it stops.

Anyone know what the problem may be?

How does naturalpoint know that I'm launching FB? Is it through registry settings? I'm wondering if it somehow doesn't recognize I've launched FB.

TIR reverts to miouse when FB launches. Hit mode key to fix in game.

Your cursor will not move when in enhanced mode. Enhanced mode is view control only, and your mouse is cursor. No more connection between the two.

No idea on the 10 seconds. Try cycling your mode again. Shrug.

If I launch and then switch to TIR enhanced, I'm lucky if it works for 10 seconds and then it stops. Most times it doesn't work at all in TIR enhanced.

Do you by any chance use a non-uniform shaped refelctive area (A ling strip or such)? If so, do you have a custom profile made for IL-2 FB that it auto-loads?

I have a specific profile for IL2FB configured, but I'm using dots, and multple ones at that, located on the mic of my headset.

Why do you ask? I've also tried with no profile at all set to autoload but still seemed to have the same problems.

Okay, I've tried some more things but now I can't get TIR enhanced to do anything whatsoever.

I'm thinking that perhaps IL2FB isn't being detected when I start it. Is this possible?

Note the following things that lead me to suggest this:
-TIR software is in g:\program files\naturalpoint\trackir (my Win2000 OS partition)
-Forgotten Battles is on D:\IL2FB, not the standard folder naming convention

When I first installed everything I had the same problem as you. Out of frustration I uninstalled the TrackIR software, reinstalled it and then everything worked perfectly.

No ideas why or how it worked this way, but you may want to give it a shot in case it works for you too.

So, no enhanced mode for me...

I just came here to post on a fix that worked for me ,but it may help you as well.

when I loaded FB, all was well and running fine,untill I started trying to use my TIR.It would compleatly freaze my game. I tryed everything,uninstall,reinstall,3 diferant sets of vid drivers,etc..

this was all with the recently installed 2.01b software.

So I uninstalled it yet again and reinstalled the 2.00.

Nothing but smoth sailing every since!

I had 2.0 working fine (including enhanced mode) and 2.01b working fine (but no enhanced mode), but the 2.00 enhanced mode didn't give me enough range of motion or speed options so I opted for the mouseview instead....

Hoping to see enhanced mode once the beta is reworked....
