5.5.1 No Keyboard Hot Keys in-game

Recently installed 5.5.1, but had to roll back to 5.4.2, due to keyboard hot keys not being recognized in-game (DCS). None of the recenter, pause, nor precision hot keys work in 5.5.1 in-game (they seem to be recognized when NOT in game, ie the TIR app running). Once I rolled back to 5.4.2, all work and were recognized correctly. Clearly a bug in the updated drivers.

Hi Darkdiz,

If your rerun the 5.5.1 installer and use the repair option, this should fix the problem. Your TIR profile is kept in one of two places:
C:\Program Files (x86)\TrackIR5\Profiles
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\NaturalPoint\TrackIR5

The profile will have all of your keybinds for the TIR, for some reason it sounds like it didn't copy over to your install of 5.5.1.

Hi: I downloaded and installed 5.5.3, hoping that the issue would be fixed, it is not.
When running DCS, the hotkeys (center, pause etc) do not work unless the track ir interface is on top, then they appear to work. I tried running it minimized, maximized, but as soon as track IR is NOT the primary active app, the hotkeys do not work. Back to 5.4.2

Hello Darkdiz,

Can you test whether the pause hotkey works with the TrackIR software when some other application has focus (i.e. a web browser)? When I tested this with my setup, I found that the TrackIR orange LEDs would turn on and off when I pressed F9, regardless of whether the software is in focus. I tested using the Pause hotkey so I would have visual confirmation of the TrackIR responding, even when the TrackIR software is not on top.

Are the three checkboxes (Enable, Toggle, and Trap) all selected? Make sure both your game and the TrackIR software are either running as Administrator or not running as Administrator as we have seen odd behavior when only one has administrative privileges.

Initially, the pause, recenter, precision etc hotkeys did not work if another application was in focus (DCS etc). All 3 check boxes are selected.
So, after much testing, the solution was fairly easy.
In 5.4.2, running as admin was not checked, all worked fine (DCS was Administrator checked). However, not so in 5.5.x. After checking the Run as Administrator box in TIR, the hotkeys were functional regardless of whether TIR was on top or not.
All appears functional at time of writing!
