Is there a new version in the works (5.5.3 perhaps?).
I'm asking because I tried several combinations of uninstall/reinstall/repairs with 5.5.0 onwards, and although I managed to get 5.5.1 working after a repair, it lasted for a few days then stopped, and 5.5.2 isn't recognized by some games (Battleye blocks it for now, so it is a no-go).
Curiously, after so many uninstalls and reinstalls (even removing the drivers directly from Device Manager and using Revo Uninstaller to get rid of any prior software trace), after my last install of 5.5.0, everything is working ok but the software doesn't point that there are an update anymore (it should, as it is 5.5.0 and there is 5.5.2 available).
I'm not messing with it anymore because, like I said, things are working a little better than 5.4.2 (specially the centering is more solid, not requiring me to recenter often as before with 5.4.2, but there are things that 5.5.1 fixed that I'm interested in, but I'm afraid to go for it and mess it all again.
Cheers.

Hi JoKeR,
Thanks for reaching out.
We haven't tested 5.5.2 with Battleye, but I will share your finding with our dev team and let them know this anticheat software isn't working with 5.5.2. Of all the games you've tested that do not work with 5.5.2 are all of these blocked by Battleye, or are there some games that just don't work altogether? And to confirm, Battleeye is not blocking these games in 5.5.0?
You also mentioned in a different post that you rebooted TrackIR several times and then games quit working?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I will have to ask the devs what exact file the servers reference to determine if a newer version is available. In the meantime, have you tried running a repair for TrackIR 5.5.2 to see if this fixes that behavior when you roll back to 5.5.0?

Re: New version being developed?
Hey JoKeR,
One additional note, if you are concerned about any issues when running TrackIR 5.5.2 we would recommend backing up the AppData folder:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\NaturalPoint\TrackIR 5
When you install between versions of TrackIR it might be a good idea to delete that folder in AppData before you reinstall a given version or run a repair.
The settings.xml file in AppData is what TrackIR references against our server to determine if a newer version of the software is available. If you rolled back to 5.5.0 and that settings.xml file is somehow the same file from 5.5.2, then it will not prompt that "New Software" notification. Is it possible you used the same settings.xml or copy of appdata when you rolled back to 5.5.0?

Re: New version being developed?
Anyone else experiencing a bug after upgrading from 5.4.2 to 5.5.1 (and still with 5.5.2) where TrackIR shuts down every time the PC sleeps? Just an annoyance when it used to stay enabled between active sessions.

Re: New version being developed?
Hi rolivaresf,
We've tested DCS and MSFS2020 on our side and these seem to be working successfully for us in the latest version of TrackIR 5.5.2. Can you try the following instructions?:
We recently released version 5.5.2. This should have fixed some issues with how the 5.5.0 or 5.5.1 installers failed to update certain files, including the Microsoft redistributables. However, if just installing 5.5.2 still does not solve the issue then please try the following steps:
1) Save a copy of this TrackIR 5 folder to some other folder in file explorer: "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\NaturalPoint\TrackIR 5"
2) Now, delete the TrackIR 5 folder inside of AppData.
3) Then, if you haven't installed 5.5.2 yet go ahead and install 5.5.2. If 5.5.2 is already installed then re-install or run a repair install for TrackIR 5.5.2. This will rebuild the AppData folder and rebuild any necessary files for running TIR successfully with games.
***Note, the repair install is an option when you run the installer for an already installed version of TrackIR. Fore example, if you run the installer for 5.5.2 while 5.5.2 is already installed, then you will be given the option to 'repair' or 'uninstall' TrackIR 5.5.2
4) Launch TIR and initiate the "Games List Update" which will prompt you to relaunch TIR.
Please let us know if this solves the issue with running TIR with DCS and MSFS2020.
Note, 'Step 1)' is intended to back up any custom settings you may have applied which are part of these files:
"C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\NaturalPoint\TrackIR 5\Profiles"
"C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\NaturalPoint\TrackIR 5\ProfileMap.dat"
"C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\NaturalPoint\TrackIR 5\Settings.xml"
If there are any custom settings you want to retain like profiles, camera settings, or profile-to-title settings then you will want to replace the default files with your custom files in those paths in AppData. Please let us know if you have additional questions or concerns about any of this.

Re: New version being developed?
Hi Marcus, sorry for taking long to respond.
Yes, I rolled back a backed up version of my Appdata after uninstalling 5.5.2, this explains why I'm not seeing "new software available" alerts anymore. Will delete the settings.xml and let TiR regenerate it then. Worst that can happen is to reassign every profile again.
The games that I have that depend on Battleye are from the Arma series (Arma3 and Reforger). They don't work with 5.5.2, but they work ok with 5.5.0. <- SOLVED IN viewtopic.php?t=30884
I'm running 5.5.0 in the last days and haven't got any issues of loosing TiR neither with Battleye - but TIRMouse doesn't run.
When using 5.5.1 I lost TiR after some reboots (it wouldn't be picked up by games anymore, I don't know why), and with 5.5.2 I have the problem with Battleye.
Waiting for a 5.5.3 or at least a 5.5.2 that Battleye is aware of. <- SOLVED IN viewtopic.php?t=30884
Cheers.
EDIT: After deleting the settings.xml and restarting Trackir, I got the "new software" alert, chose "view" from the dropdown menu (instead of simply clicking over the alert), closed the browser and restarted Trackir without updating it. Now the alert doesn't appear anymore. The option for "check for new software" is ticked, but subsequent restarts of TrackIr doesn't trigger the alert. Current version shown is 5.5.0.137. The window title shows "5.5" only.
