Profile issues with new software version of TrackIR
I'm having some issues with the new version of their software. Essentially, it's changing my profile, despite me putting a literal copy of my existing profile that I used on the previous version. On 5.5.0, my profile feels much snappier and more linear, despite having the same speed and smoothness options. I'm trying to click on the white dots on the motion adjustment section in the software, but it's very sensitive, and half of the time it'll actually move the points. Wondering if there's a way I can upgrade to 5.5.0 and keep my profile the same.

Thank you for reaching out about the new version of the software. We expect to release another update this week to fix some issue that have been discovered. I recommend waiting for this new version to see if this resolves the differences you are seeing when using the same profile.

Hi guys! So what happened? why you decide to back since many years of silence? Or it will be same flashy updates since 5.4.2 which doesnt provide any new features? Mike still working in Naturalpoint?

i have just updated to 5.5.1 and its messed my whole system up after years of use with no problems
it worked fine on 5.5.0.....how do i get it back to that?

Same for me. Moreover it is not possible to use hot keys as befor - F12 for center view, F11 for pause etc. How to return everything back ?

I'm having different issues and just decided to install 5.4.2 over top of 5.5.1, my problem was fixed immediately.

Go here : https://www.trackir.com/downloads/
Click the 5.4.2 version, download and install it, you don't have to uninstall 5.5.1 from my experience.

Hey all,
If you rerun the 5.5.1 installer, and use the "repair" this should fix the update. Some of the files are not being copied over correctly if you install 5.5.1 over a different version, but the repair fixes that.

Hello Matthew. Thanks for the response, but I see that a new version has been released. This version does not fix my issue with my profile being different despite all the same settings, curves, etc.
If I do the same method, but with the 5.5.2 version, should it work the same way? Thanks.

I've opted to just stick with 5.4.2, as that's the only version that still works with my profile. The repair method didn't work, and I tried that on 5.5.1 and 5.5.2
Is there possibly a fix by dragging some files or folders from 5.4.2, then to the new versions' files?

Hi everyone,
Please try the following steps
1) Save a copy of this TrackIR 5 folder to some other folder in file explorer: "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\NaturalPoint\TrackIR 5"
2) Now, delete the TrackIR 5 folder inside of AppData.
3) Then, if you haven't installed 5.5.2 yet go ahead and install 5.5.2. If 5.5.2 is already installed then re-install or run a repair install for TrackIR 5.5.2. This will rebuild the AppData folder and rebuild any necessary files for running TIR successfully with games.
4) Launch TIR and initiate the "Games List Update" which will prompt you to relaunch TIR.
Please let us know if this solves any of the issues you've been running into since the update to 5.5.0, 5.5.1, or 5.5.2.
Note, 'Step 1)' is intended to back up any custom settings you may have applied which are part of these files:
"C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\NaturalPoint\TrackIR 5\Profiles"
"C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\NaturalPoint\TrackIR 5\ProfileMap.dat"
"C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\NaturalPoint\TrackIR 5\Settings.xml"
If there are any custom settings you want to retain like profiles, camera settings, or profile-to-title settings then you will want to replace the default files with your custom files in those paths in AppData. Please let us know if you have additional questions or concerns about any of this.
