TrackIR 5.5.2 "Flickering"

Post by edakridge »

My TrackIR is doing exactly what the title describes. It doesn't do it immediately, only after a few minutes. I have read several forum posts with the same problem, but no definitive cure. My receiver is plugged into a USB on the computer, not a hub. Though I have tried it both ways.I have put it into camera view and have 3 green. I am using a hat clip which I have cleaned along with the receiver. No other light sources behind me. But every so often the left led on the receiver starts flashing and my view in the game goes berserk.
Any answers?

Hello edakridge,

Are you able to check the TrackIR software in Camera Mode while the LED is flickering? I also recommend making sure all of the USB Root Hubs and other USB devices in Device Manager are set to not allow Windows to turn off USB devices to save power.

Done and Done. I tried to include a screenshot of "Camera Mode" in my original post, but I guess that your forum doesn't allow pictures. I forgot to mention that I am running Windows 11 which seems to mess with everything.

Done and Done. I tried to add a screenshot to my original post, but it didn't go through. It's weird, yesterday it worked fine today not so much.

Hello edakridge,

Is your camera centered on your display and are you positioned as described in the quick start guide (https://d1rhoi6onixddn.cloudfront.net/d ... .07.02.pdf)? When the flickering was happening, were you able to check camera view to see if there was any light interference? The left LED will flicker when the camera either cannot detect all of the reflectors/LEDs, or when it gets hit with other sources of IR light that interfere with its ability to definitively track those three reflectors/LEDs.
