Just a quick question

Post by Addy »

Well I got my TIR on thursday, and like the fool I am, riped open the box, read the directions, loaded up the software. Whoohoo...working on my desk top! Fired up aces high....oh oh problems!! ( Nothin to do with Naturalpoints software!!) After the weekend it is finally working in the game!! ( had a key mapping conflict between the TIR mode enable and pan view in AH!! DOOOH) It is certainatly different flying this way. I can only use mouse mode as AH doesnt support the TIR yet ( why oh why????) for now i can live with the "losing center" all the time. whew. Ok my question is....how can I get the views to be smoother? They aren't skipping just kinda vibrating like you were sitting on an outta balance washing machine, ok maybe not that bad, but enough to be annoying. For now I just tell myself that my 1200hp merlin is outta tune in my Spitty!!

Other than that...This thing ROCKS!!!!!
Well time to go back and email hitech creations AGAIN for trackir support!!!

I have the same problem in AH, i.e. the jittery view. Can't quite recall whether i have the same jittery views with the normal mouse or just with the trackIR. But that wasn't the case with some previous AH version (can't remember which, 1.04??). I set the smoothness to 120 which helped a bit but it's still jittery. I can remember it working very smoothly and in fact much better, smoother and faster than in IL2 at the time. Dunno what has changed but with current version of AH it's simply not as smooth for me anymore.

Still I find mouselook a major PITA to setup in AH. It would be best if trackIR could be natively supported in AH. Second option would be that the mouselook could be setup in an easy to use way, not anything like keeping right mouse button pressed to look around.

IMO it's lack of time/resources/vision? for the hitech guys for not having native trackIR support implemented in AH. Then again i look at it from the trackIR users POV. I grew up using hatswitch too but simply outgrew it when i started using trackIR.

Sometimes it takes an eyeopener to get things done. In IL2 you have the tracks, in AH you can't show something similar. Pity because i think it would convert many, if not all the hatswitchers to the trackIR.
