I have a TrackIR 5 with a Pro Clip. As of software version v5.5.0 and upwards I'm experiencing jittering, both in the software as well as in DCS (the only TIR game I play). Downgrading to v5.4.2 solves it. I have always had this problem with v5.5.0+. Regardless of hardware and Windows installation. Tried a fresh new profile based on the default one and that too suffers from it.
How do I solve this? At this point v5.4.2 still works but it is probably only a matter of time before this stops working with future Windows versions.

Re: Jittering since v5.5.0+
Hello Oliver Official,
Have you verified whether the behavior is visible when looking at Camera View in the TrackIR software, or is it only seen in the 3D view? Make sure that there are no stray sources of IR light being detected. What value are you currently using for smoothing? Does changing smoothing to 10 improve the jittering?
Kind Regards,

Re: Jittering since v5.5.0+
Hi and thanks.
Changing smoothing to 10 reduces it somewhat. It masks the issue to some extent but doesn't solve it. I typically have smoothing set to 2 for snappiness. Which works wonders in 5.4.2 and older versions. To your other question, as I said, it's noticeable in the software as well as in the game/3D world. Which rules out the game being the factor, at least to me.
Let me please emphasize this again: without changing anything to my hardware, the environment, Windows, drivers, etc., uninstalling 5.5.X and reinstalling 5.4.2 solves it. And that is using the same profile and a smoothing of 2. The only factor that I have been able to determine to cause this, is upgrading the software to 5.5.0 or higher.
In your 5.5.0 changelog it says, among other items:
- Internally modernized the application including updates to DirectX and other libraries.
- Fixed issues with precision mode for the TrackIR5.
Is there anything with respect to filtering or smoothing algorithms changed as of 5.5.0 that could help point in the right direction? If need be, I can attach my profile and settings XML.

Hi Oliver Official,
Our team is aware of this issue and hopes to address it in a future release. In the meantime, you can try either using a higher smoothing value (i.e. 10) or revert to version 5.4.2.

Appreciate the confirmation, Jillian. I'll downgrade to 5.4.2 for now and keep an eye on future software updates.jillian.smythe wrote: ↑Fri Jun 27, 2025 2:10 pm Hi Oliver Official,
