TrackIR not working

I have a version 5 and over the last few months, about 75% of the time when I start up Track IR, the small camera view window in the upper right has a red grid like pattern on it. I see 4 small red lights on the sensor itself, but it will not work. Usually, a repair or reinstall fixes it. I rolled back to the previous software version, but it still does this. Any ideas what is going on? Thanks in advance for the assistance.

Hello PilotGuy9853,

I would recommend right clicking on the main grid and selecting Camera View - that should give you a larger view of what the camera is actually seeing. When everything is working normally, you should see three green dots that represent either the TrackClip reflectors or the TrackClip Pro's LEDs. If you see red dots or splotches, that indicates that there is a source of IR light other than what the unit is expecting from the reflectors/LEDs. This light can be from another LED (i.e. on a smoke detector), sunlight through a window, a security camera's IR ring, etc. You may be able to determine what is causing the light by blocking the camera with something non-reflective and then slowly moving it to identify where the source of the light is coming from.
