Hello to all,
I am also having the similar problems.
Almost verbatim with what Jeff Lee wrote.
I had a bit of trouble to begin with, ran the regedit program and all was fine for several weeks.
By fine, I mean that sometimes it would not come on, I would unplug it, wait 30 seconds and plug it back in.
And even when I unplugged it from the USB port (not a hub), I still got the tones from XP Pro telling me a USB hardware had been disconnected/reconnected.
About a week ago, I got the same faint red light that never changes from the time the power button is pushed to the time the computer shuts down.
If I dis-connect there are no tones, same for re-connect.
Upon checking the setupapi.log, I also found 10 files marked setupapi.log.0.old thru setupapi.log.9.old ( nobody else mentioned that )
So I will also send a copy to Rick and stand by for further information.
In two threads I have not seen any repairs for this problem listed only replacements.
Serial #044675
Sys specs:
Intel P4 3.0 Ghz
800 FSB
2 gigabytes RAM
60 Gigabytes 7000 rpm HDD
30 Gigabytes 10,000 rpm SATA HDD
GEforce 5900 Ultra GPU
Windows XP Pro SP2
Thanks ahead for any help, I need to get my TIR back up and running.
Best Regards / GmanM
