Hello,


i have the same Problem.
I just changed my OS to Vista Ultimate 64 and canht even install the Driver.

After i start the Setup i get this:

Internal Failure

Error Number:0x80040707


Then when it comes to the License Agreement. The part where al the Text should be is blank. Ok, now i click on yes and select a folder to install...and i get this:


Unhandled Exception

Errornumber :0x80040705
Description: String accessed out of bounds


Setup will now terminate


Tryed loads of stuff...Ruunin it as Admin etc...nothing helped so far.

I hope there is a solution for this problem.

Never come across this erro - 0x80040705

Doing a little research looks lik it has been a protection rights issue.......

Have You ever tried Your own software on a Windows XP 64 Professional System?

After all i tried i become everytime the error: 80040707 Message!

Please help to use this excellent pice of hardware

I did it!!

First i've tried long time to install it on my new PC with XP x64 Professional without succsess.(x80040707 message!!!)

Then i've installed TRACKIR4 software 4.1.030 from the CD correctly on my old PC with XP Professional version 32Bit.

Then i updated it normaly on the internet to the latest version.

After all works fine on this PC with XP Professional 32Bit, i've copyed the whole folder "TrackIR4"
(C:/Program Files/NaturalPoint/TrackIR4) on a memory stick - the folder contains less then 7MBytes.

Then i simply copyed the folder "TrackIR4" from the Stick in the new Windows XP x64 Professional PC to the folder:
(C:/Program Files (x86)/)

At last i plugged in TrackIR to USB and when "New Hardware found" promted, i select "Search in..." (don't let Windows seach!)
(C:/Program Files (x86)/TrackIR4/Drivers) and klick'd OK

XP promted for new hardware is installed and works...



Hope you have an older PC too or some friend with...

Yes I have installed the software, on an 64-bit system, both XP and Vista.

In the past the issue with that error code refers to an issue with the installer application - InstallShield

AND FINALLY IT WORKSSSSSSS!!!
Thank you vincent, a lot of thanks for launch the new software version, the 4.0134 !!!
This new software removes the older versions drivers, that i could not remove by my myself. It�s, almost for me, a very good tool to resolve driver problems.
