Hello TrackIR support:
I received my TrackIR 5 in the mail today and set it up. The track clip was easily recognized and all 6 degrees are working. However, I find that when looking around the view is unsteady and fidgety. For example, i'll look to the left past 90 degrees and hold my vision steady. The viewpoint however, will start to slide back to the right at a medium pace. I am not moving my head at all when this is happening.
What this means is that when looking around the cockpit and trying to flick certain switches, I find the camera just keeps moving and it's impossible to click.
Is there a way to steady the view? I tried fiddling around in the settings but nothing worked for me.
Thanks.

Re: How to fix unsteady movement?
Often times this happens because of small movements that the user is not aware of. If you want to test the "drift" to see if it is caused by this, place the camera and the TrackClip on a table facing eachother with about two to three feet in between them. Slowly move and rotate the clip, and verify that it's movements are appropriate, and that there's no drift when you don't move it.

That wouldn't happen to be going on in Take on Helicopters would it? It just about makes me want to scream as the game is nearly unplayable

I believe that Bohemia is making some improvements to TOH's head tracking implementation that are supposed to improve the overall experience. For more information, check out their forums.

Re: How to fix unsteady movement?
I use two buttons on my Flight Yoke. I program them to Pause and Center my screen. Push once sets it push the second time to release it. You do this in Advanced Profile Settings TracIR5 window just as if you were in the FSX Buttons Settings window. It works grate if I want to look at controls and or make changes in controls ect..
From the Manual
Hotkeys
Hotkeys allow you to map keys or buttons on other input devices to perform functions in the TrackIR software. You can select the keys to be used, turn the hotkey on or off, enable toggle mode, and trap the hotkey. Select the hotkey you wish to edit (Pause, Center, or Precision) from the dropdown menu.
Pause
The Pause hotkey allows you to control whether head tracking data is being sent to the TrackIR Enhanced title. You can pause head tracking to keep the in-game view fixed, even while your head is moving.
Center
The Center hotkey allows you to re-center your in-game view. Every time the Center hotkey is pressed, it re-defines your current head position as the new center.
Hope this is some help for some.
