outside view fsx

Post by glennjenkin »

Im sure if this question has been made or answerd already...
regarding exterior view on fsx, i have noticed that the flaps do not extend or retract.

is this due to to restriction with trackir?

when in 2D or VC mode the function works correctly.

TrackIR should have no impact on any of the flight modeling, including the functionality of plane controls, as it only relates to the game engine's camera.

Unfortunately, I don't! If it has to do with something like plane controls, that would be up to the developer to troubleshoot. Unfortunately, with FSX, that's really not an option anymore. You could try some flight sim community forums, like Avsim, and see if anyone there might be able to advise on a fix.

Not to worry, Glenn.

Whatever correlation you're seeing is coincidental with respect to TrackIR, in that we literally have no control over FSX's flight model, plane controls, etc. All our software does is send 6 DOF data via Simconnect to control the FSX camera.

It's possible that the particular FSX camera in question has a conflict with some other game control, and that particular bug is only exposed when you move the camera around via a Simconnect command with a view control input like TrackIR--or perhaps some other bug that view controls happen to trigger. But, unfortunately, we don't have access to any of this, as all of that is governed by the FSX game engine--code that doesn't belong to us and isn't exposed to us.

Normally I would direct you to the game devs in a situation like this, but as FSX is no longer actively developed by MS and the studio responsible for it has been closed, I think you might be out of luck in troubleshooting this particular bug.
