I was really excited to find out about the TrackIR 5 and the TrackClip Pro... till I read about all the breakages on the TrackClip.
It's awesome that you guys are so responsive to the problems but I'd rather just have a TrackClip that won't break if the wind blows on it wrong.
The eggshell fragility of the TrackClip is the only thing that's holding me back (I'd prefer wireless but I can suffer through that) so is there a timeframe on a redesigned TrackClip? Again this is the only thing holding me back from buying one but there's just no way I would ever get the TrackIR 5 without a headset mounted target and the TrackClip seems to be a complete waste of time.
Again I want to stress how impressed I am with your responses to the problems but I'd rather just not have the problems. Great customer service goes a long way and I want to buy your products but only if they are more ruggedly designed.

We are always looking for ways to improve our TrackIR product line. We have recently replaced the plastic and LED's of the TrackClip Pro. This upgrade was about 2 weeks ago.

I'm glade to hear that you have made changes in the TPC, as mine broke several years ago, and I've been waiting for some upgrades before I purchased a replacement. Would it be possible to get more details as to what was changed with the LED's, and as much descriptive info on the plastic changes. I see no indications of the new changes on your web site description of this item. How would we know if we are purchasing the new model or the old one, will there be a version identifier (Ver. 1.1). Thanks

Yes I would also like to know what material changes have been made to improve the pro clip and how to identify the new model from the old model,I had no intention of buying the old faulty trackclip pro but bought one thinking I was buying the newer improved version, it would appear by the way in which the trackclip pro I bought easily snapped that it is not the improved version . The newer improved version has not yet arrived at uk retailers and they are currently still selling the older faulty units so I would hold off buying one until the newer improved version arrives and is easily identifiable from the old trackclip pro.

This is not a new version of the TrackClip Pro or a new model number. It is simply an update in materials. The coloring around the LED's appear to be white instead of gold.

so does this mean the known issue of the trackclip pro falling apart have been solved with the change in materials?
