F7 key locked out of keyboard

Hi there I'm new to this software and product which is really cool, however is it a bug for the software even when not being actively used in a game to lock out the F7 key permanently for all other uses?

I had a spare drive with a mirror of my setup minus this software and it's working on the same keyboard?

Is this a bug or standard practice of the software if so maybe a warning should be given when installing as I thought my new keyboard was faulty and it isn't?
