software only works when it's the active window

Hi! I'm hoping someone can help with this. Just bought the Trackir 5 + Track Clip Pro, and am really enjoying it so far. However, it's starting to frustrate me.

I seem to be stuck in default profile. For Freespace it needs the sensitivity set way down, so I saved a profile for it, but it reverts to the default profile if I minimize the Trackir programa window software or switch to the game.

I'm trying to play with mouse emulation as well but every time I click off the window, it stops moving the mouse.

I'm sorry that you are having some trouble with the TrackIR. Are you going into the titles tab of the advanced settings and assigning your profile to the correct title? If the title has the default profile assigned to it, that is what it will load. The other option is to fine tune your profile and mark it as exclusive. That would prevent any title from loading a different profile.

I'll have to look into the issue you are seeing with mouse emulation.

Ah! Thanks! It must have been loading the default setting because it was the profile it was set to. That solves the main issue. Exclusive mode works too... didn't know what that did. Sorry, I just skimmed the manual I guess, and didn't notice that.

I found that mouse emulation works ok once I'm in a game, but not if I'm in Windows. So I can't use it to surf the web for example, because clicking would make it not the active window anymore. But if I'm in game, clicking doesn't turn off the emulation.

I think the last post I tried to make didn't go through. Anyway, thanks! The profile was set to default like you said. And exclusive mode works as well.

However, I tried mouse emulation with Wolfenstein and it's still not working when I go click off of the trackir software window.

Glad to know it was *mostly* resolved. Mouse emulation can be used in a few situations, but it is no substitute for full integration.
