Hey all,
I've recently purchased a trackir 5, but I'm having a horrible time trying to get it up and running.
I've been using the trackir clip and when I boot up the software every little turn of my head makes everything go haywire. If I turn my head a little to the left for example all three virtual heads on the right of the screen start doing flip flops. I've gotten it up and running in ArmA 3 but I'm suprised my character hasn't dropped dead from a broken neck. No movement of my head correlates with whats happening on the screen, nor is it consistent.
Any help would be appreciated as I'd really like to get this worked out. I will admit I'm an old fart and am not the most computer literate person around, but I was expecting this to be a little less frustrating.
-Cheers

check_engine,
Does this happen all the time, or is it more present during a specific time of day? Are there any lights, reflective surfaces or windows in the view of the camera? If you open the camera display, what do you see? It sounds to me like there is light interfering with your tracking and causing the view to "bounce" around.
Regards,

Hi Mike,
It happens anytime of the day really weather lights or on or off, although I have only tried it during the day, maybe I should give it a go tonight and see if things turn out better.
When I first installed the program I saw a graph in the center as well as a highlighted X/Y axis identifier. Once everything went haywire I haven't seen that again. Sometimes the global graph is so zoomed in I can't even make out the grid lines, sometimes I inside it, sometimes I'm outside of it.

Mike,
So I just tried it again tonight and I had a real smooth performance. There aren't any windows directly in line with the camera, but the fireplace on the wall opposite my desk. Is it possible light was reflecting off the glass and hitting the camera?

check_engine,
I would like you to open up the Camera View and take a screen shot of what it shows when it is acting up. Any extra light going into the camera could cause it to track erratically.
