FS2002 Pro help
We've noticed that a number of users with FS2002 Pro are having dificulty getting trackIR Enhanced support to work. It seems that in some cases the trackIR Software is not finding the MODULES directory, even after you point it.
If you're at all familiar with Regedit, try the following (after you've backed up your registry, of course):
1) Find the actual location of your MSFS2002/MODULES directory
2) Go to the following registry entry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\NaturalPoint\NaturalPoint\V2.01 GX\MSFSModuleLocation
change the entry to *exactly match* the location of your directory, and then add the trackIR.dll file.
Example:
C:\Games\MS2002\MODULES\Trackir.dll
I hope this helps some of you.

Re: FS2002 Pro help
Thank for the info. I tried the registry change, which in my case means changing the C: to F:, but every time I run the 2.01Final software, it changes back to C:.
Any Ideas why?

Re: FS2002 Pro help
What happens when you re-install the software? does it bring up the 'install MSFS2002 support' dialog? What happens next?
Re: FS2002 Pro help
Sorry Halstead, it was a while back. I have managed to reinstall both FS2002 and Tir and it works fine, but the reg key is still pointing to the wrong location. I can change it but as soon as I shut down the TIR software, the reg key goes back to C:.....
Is this key used just for the initial installation of the module or is it needed each time to get the TIR and FS2002 talking because it seems to work fine even though this is wrong.
Let me know if you want me to test anything else.
BTW, system is
WinXP Pro (SP1)
DX9a
TIR 2.01Final

regedit is a small app that allows you to alter the computers registry. Unless you are confident about what you are doing, I dont suggest playing with it as you can do mundo damage here.

Re: FS2002 Pro help
Ive been reading this thread and it applies to me as well. I have a WinXP system with MSFS2K2PRO and TIR with latest software update d/l today and installed. (V2.01)
I got both IL2-FB and Falcon4-SP3 working fine. However MSFS2K2 does not with TIR.
First when in the TIR PROFILES, MSFS2002 does not auto-load. It gives a red message:
" NOTE: Support for Profile Auto-Loading is not currently available for MSFS 2002".
Then I go and make the registry edits as requested here because my installation is at: C:\SIMS\FS2002\ and not the default as in the TIR registry key value.
However this registry value gets changed back to the default irregardless of the invocation order of MS or TIR being first.
Yes there is a Trackir.dll in the MODULES folder under FS2002.
Can someone please give me the step by step process to get this working? Do I need a MS2002 TIR profile file from somewhere?
If Im expected to reinstall MSFS2002, thats unacceptable to require users to do. There must be a workaround or fix for this.
Please help.

Re: FS2002 Pro help
I agree AV8R.
I managed to get it working bu uninstalling both TIR and FS2002, removing any entries for naturalpoint in the registry, rebooting, installing FS2002 and running it once, installing TIR, then installing the dll and running. I then had to uninstall TIR and reinstall it before it worked properly. Since then its been fine, except when I tried it yesterday and suddenly it no longer works??
Ive almost given up.

Re: FS2002 Pro help
Ive come back to see if TIR Cst Support will respond to our pleas for some commitment to fixing this unfortunate behavior between TIR and MSFS2K2 (Especially in the case where the install of MSFS isnt in the default folder).
So far nothing.
Expecting people to go thru the gyrations of uninstalling a flight sim that has with it many manhours of tweeks and mods to get it to the user's tastes, to be able to run TIR is outrageous. Lets fix the software please.
