Impossible to install Trackir 5.3/5.4: error 1303

Hello all.

I'm having a such hard time trying to install TrackIr 5.4 software. The installer fails with the following error:

Of course I'm launching it as administrator.

I'm on Windows 8.1.

Any suggestions?

Ottopus,

From what I can find out about this error is that other folder permissions may be impacting the install. You may receive the error if the folder in which you are installing the program has one of the two qualifiers. A) The SYSTEM group does not have Full Control privileges or B) The Everyone group does not have Full Control privileges.

The resolution is to go in an ensure that the proper groups also have the proper permission level.

Thanks for the reply.

Yesterday I already tried several times to change that folder permissions, tried to delete it and rebooted the system after every try. No results, the error was still there.

Without any reason, this morning that folder became readable/writable and the installation was successful.

What's going on?!

Problem solved by now but that behavior was very weird.

It is a Windows error, so I've no idea what could have caused it on your system. Glad to hear that you are up and running again now though.
