Hi!
I have a very specific problem, which I hope I can explain in an understandable way:
Some time ago, I had to reinstall Windows XP. Prior to that, my TIR1 worked fine with FS9, which is installed on a different partition than XP (like all my games).
I use TIR mainly for IL2 which doesn't require registry entries to run. So I only had to create a new shortcut on the desktop to make it work.
At the time I installed TIR (2.12), I hadn't reinstalled FS9 yet so I didn't check the option to install the DLL for FS9.
Just recently, I reinstalled FS9. In order to not lose the many addons/scenery etc. of the old installation, I renamed the already existing, old FS9 folder on the F-partition to "Flight Simulator 9 old", installed FS9 on the same partition, renamed the new FS9 folder to "Flight Simulator 9 new" and the old folder to "Flight Simulator 9".
I now have the required registry entries and the files and folders in "dokuments and settings" to make FS9 run (with all the old addons and scenery). It sounds complicated, but it isn't in reality.
Now, here comes my problem:
From the time before this whole reinstallation procedure (OS and programs), I have the TrackIRFS2004.dll in the modules folder of FS9.
When I start FS9 now, I get an error message that tells me that there is an unknown, perhaps incompatible DLL (the old TrackIRFS2004.dll). I am asked if I want to load it anyway and I do so. But in the game, TIR doesn't work now.
My question is:
I want to get my TIR working again with FS9 without reinstalling TIR.
What do I have to do (manual tweaking of INI-files or similar), to led FS9 recognize the TrackIRFS2004.dll as a valid module and to get TIR working again?
Thanks in advance
TBird
P.S.: I hope I explained my situation good enough. It's not easy for me because english isn't my first language.

Re: (Re)-Installing TrackIRFS2004.dll
TBird66,
Okay let me see if I can understand what you are saying.
When you originally installed your TrackIR software, it reads where FS9 is via the registry, if you have moved the directory then it sounds as if your TrackIR software does not know where your FS9 is located.
There is a registry entry that we can check to see if this is pointing to the correct directory, however I am running some new software on my home games machine, so this entry does not excist for me to check.
Please e-mail me to remind me at the office and I can send you details of the correct registry entry.
"TrackIRFS2004.dll" is both FS9 and FS9.1 compatable and should return no errors in FS9.
It would be much easier to simply re-install your software.

Unfortunately, I cannot describe my problem in any simpler way. But I think you are correct with your last proposal. I think I'll just reinstall TIR. Should be easier than to fiddle with the registry. I'll post if it worked.
