DCS WORLD Zoom Axis issues

Post by Chris.K. »

I'm sure this is somehow an issue with DCS world it-self but myself as well as many other DCS world Track-i.r-5 users all seem to be having this same issue with everyone within the DCS community/forums who has suggested "Fixes" so far nothing is working.

So i figured it's time to ask the pro's who work with Track-i.r 5 on a daily basis, or users who hunt these forums and are potentially a bit more tech-savvy than myself.

So here's whats happening: when you load up into any aircraft within DCS world it loads you into the pilot seat and begins to "slowly" zoom the camera out to a default position, (don't ask me why it starts out slightly zoomed in and zooms out so slowly) but anyway, Once finished with this, you're supposed to be able to begin flying with the moment you enter any input into your Flight-stick/joystick-etc, the game will just let you fly and use your track-i.r. 5 to look around,...

But in the case of myself and what seems to be about 5 to 8% of other Track-i.r.-5 users is when the game laods up the aircraft for us,... the instant it finishes it's slow speed zooming out of the camera and we go to enter our first "input" into any controller/joystick or anything, it suddenly "jumps" my view forward and is now zoomed in by about +10% zoom, and that now becomes my "Default" whenever i re-center track i.r!!....

I at first thought it was somehow my "snap-views" files which snapviews are custom viewing angles you can set your camera to in DCS world anywhere inside a cockpit and then hitting a specific set of buttons on the number-pad will "save" them and hitting those individual number-pad keys later will "jump" the camera to those positions,... But i don't use "Snapviews" and even to make sure that wasn't the issue, i deleted my saved "snapviews" folder so that there would be no saved viewpoints, (came as advice from many other players of DCS forums) but that didn't change a thing....

i've also noticed i'm not the only one having this issue either this is a link posted by another user, within DCS-forums, https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=141698 and this is one of my posts here:---> https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=168654 (in fact if you read my post i go into a bit more detail to explain whats physically happenign within the simulator when this happens, and this is most prevalent when im in cockpits with lots of window-space open, because the zoom level increase means the framework around the cockpit glass i'm unable to see it and therefore end up constantly losing my "spatial awareness" when i'm in a dogfight and that leads to a lot of "unnessarily needing to "eject" from an aircraft when i should've been able to win said dogfight.

So if the Dev's here or any users here have any idea's please let me know (btw this only SEEMINGLY happens within DCS world, although the only other two games i use Track-i.r.-5 with is Arma 3 and elite dangerous and i uninstalled elite dangerous for now due to my hard-drive being a bit too full at the moment with other programs.... but i digress...

So any help or ideas or replies would be GREATLY appreciated! and thank you all for your time.

Chris,

I wish I could help end this streak of no-resolution threads, but I've honestly no idea why it would change. TrackIR relies on DCS to put you in the "default pilot" view, and only takes control of the movements once there.
