Re: Another dumb question
Clay,
To create a new profile, start by selecting an existing profile that's closest to what you want. In this case, go to the Profiles tab, and in the Profiles window on the left click on "Combat Sim Deadzone". Next, go to the Motion tab, make sure you're in tIR Enhanced mode and edit your profile using the speed, edit point and smoothing sliders. Let's say you want to create a "Smooth Dead Zone" profile. On the Motion tab, under Motion Presets, make sure Custom is selected. For this example, make sure the "X" and the linked chain on the Edit a Motion Axis line are enabled (blue). This allows editing of both horizontal and vertical axes at the same time. Set your Edit Point slider to 10 and then set the speed slider to 0. This establishes the "Dead Zone" in the middle of the range. Next, set the following: Edit Point (EP) = 20, Speed slider (SP)=6; EP=30, SP=14; EP=40, SP=19; EP=50, SP=20. This progression causes the panning motion to gradually accelerate the further away from center you get, once out of the dead zone, with the acceleration leveling off at the extremes. Finally, set the Smoothing slider to 120. This removes almost all the small head motions when in the dead zone. Good for keeping on target.
When finished, go back to the Profiles page and click on <create new>. Type over the hi-lited text in the upper window with your name for the new profile and include any notes in the lower window. Click on Save. On the right, Select IL-2 FB in the upper window and your new profile from the lower window. Select Auto Unload this Profile. That's it. Go fly. If you need to re-edit it, select it from the list on the left of the Profiles tab, click Load and then go to the Motions tab and edit the profile. Save it when you're finished and you're good to go.
