is there any reason why my tir wouls stop working with lockon after installing the flaming cliffs 1.2a patch?

Not that I know of.
Does trackir still work in any other games?
does it seem to be working fine in the TrackIR application, but not in Flaming Cliffs?

I'm also having problems running TIR software 3.13 and FC 1.12a in multiplayer. After some time, software locks up, and does not respond. All I can do to regain TIR (for some time) is reboot.

Yes it happens, go to lockon/config folder, delete the trackIR file. Restart your PC and it should work.
