hi sorry i have been reading about this thing for about a week and am really excited about it. im big into IL-2 and lock on and i think this is what i need to get those extra few kills that will make me a real threat in the air. what i want to know is this. is this product worth the cash? does it really work? im sure it does but im one of those people who if its not plug and play or very close to that i dont want to waste my time. just a good explination on why i should or shouldnt get it would be a HUGE help to me... i just spent $2400 on a brand new computer and i think that this would be like the icing on the cake for my flight games. please tell me.

worth buying??????
Re: worth buying??????
Here is my take on TrackIR systems:
If you want emersion like you have never experienced before and the ability to "padlock" what ever you want whenever you want, then buy it.
Plug and play it is, but you will have to spend time a little time getting used to it and setting it up/tweaking it to your way of flying.
The thing that might be a pain at first is keeping your posture in check if like me you sit twitching/moving about like a squirrel in front of your monitor; you will have to re-educate your body to keep good form(which is a good thing). Make sure you have a good chair to sit on and preferably one that does not swivel.
Also I have read that there are some chaps with certain medical conditions that TrackIR does not work with; maybe someone else who knows what they are can step in here.
I, like you, am a IL2 freak and I could not/will not live or fly without it.
I highly recommend the TrackIR3 Pro.
You might also want to consider getting the TrackIR hat because it gives you better precise control due to the fact that the reflective dot/square is farther away from your heads pivot point and extends or amplifies the range of movement.
If you do not like wearing caps and you use headphones (like myself), you can stick the little reflective dots on a home made extension on the top of it.
Or, you can use a dot/s on your mike boom if you use one.
You can also stick them to the rim of glasses/forehead or buy those reflective nose rings and pretend youre a bull
It is quite simple really Gotch_ur_back , TrackIR along with ones HOTAS, is simply the most important bit of kit to a simmer.
Go and buy it one right now and then thank me later

PS, I've owned the TrackIR 1+2, and now I got the Pro-3.

Re: worth buying??????
Yup, I own every generation of TrackIR as well, except for the really early TIR1 model.
Of course it is worth it. This thing is awesome.
But then again, you did come to a TIR forum. Of course your going to get massive positive feedback.
