TIR3: Status No data
TIR3: Status No data
Got my TIR3 today, and the status keeps saying No Data.
Had some problems installing, at first the device came up as unknown. Uninstalled the software, re-installed and plugged in again, and then the device was recognized correctly. But, no data...
So, uninstalled the software again, and when the program tried to remove the registry entries it came back with an error that it could not remove the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/system/controlset001/enum/usb/vid_131d&Pid_0155
There is contact with the device, led's can be turned on and off, enhanced mode gives the blue light, but nothing gets the data going.
Tried going back to an earlier restore point, but that didn't help.
So please, anyone know what to do next? Go for a replacement unit?

Re: TIR3: Status No data
I get the "no Data "somes times after a reboot and If I hit the F9 key (Or whatever key you have set to activate/deactivate)several times it starts tracking. hitting it once does nothing, I'm not sure if this will help you but give it a shot

Drone_44th,
If you uncheck the "Run at Startup" does this still happen?

Re: TIR3: Status No data
My TrackIR 3 Pro just arrived, and after following the install instructions, I get the same exact problem. As soon as the program starts, I get the green light for about a second, then it's gone. It will not pick up anything (I got the hat, too) unless it's about an inch from the tracker. Obviously, that's not gonna work.
Seems that most others don't have this problem, so I'm wondering if I just got a bad unit? Under the "tracking" screen, Camera view is just blank. If I hold the dots an inch away, it picks them up, but the camera screen just shows a bunch of green horizontal lines.
I'd greatly appreciate it if anyone has any suggestions.

ShallowWater,
I am not actually in the office at the moment.
What do you have listed for the unit in the "Device Manager"?
Did the install go without any issues?
Can you confirm that you are connecting directly to the mainboard and not through a hub?
Could you please send me a copy of your setupapi.log file, this will help to identify the status of the unit.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Install went smooth, no issues. After initial install, it worked for about 10 seconds, then nada.
Device Manager lists as "NaturalPoint Track IR3."
I'm not connecting through a hub, it's right into the MB.
I'll email you a copy of the setupapi.log.
Also, I'm running XP Pro, Service Pack 2, on an AMD 64 FX-53 with 2 gigs of RAM.

Re: TIR3: Status No data
UPDATE:
Ok, this morning as I was ready to leave for work, I stopped to quickly check my email. I immediately noticed the green light come on as soon as I sat down. Odd. Then I realized I had my sunglasses on my head. I grabbed for my NaturalPoint hat, then . . . . whalah . . . . It was working!!
Later I spent my lunch hour playing Pacific Fighters. BEAUTIFUL!! After dinner it was the same. WONDERFUL!! Took kids to see Spongebob, got home all geared up for more PF, then . . . . Zippo!
Can't get it to work now. Not sure what gives. No green light, and status = "no data." When it was working today, I tested everything I could think of. Blinds up, lights on, blinds down, lights off, it worked beautifully. Now nothing.
I really liked this thing for the hour and a half I was able to play with it. I seem to have full control over it, with no crashes. I can turn enhanced mode on/off, led's on/off and so forth. Just keep getting "no data" now. Not sure what caused it to start working earlier and not sure what's causing it to quit.

Re: TIR3: Status No data
This has only happened to me once since I've had mine. I unplugged the unit and plugged it back in to let Windows find it and haven't had another issue.
