Hey Guys,
I'm considering purchasing the Track IR3 and the new expansion pack. I'm just worried about FPS and refresh rates. I read somewhere that if its anything under 40 FPS it strains your eyes, and info on this?
I'm locked around 25 FPS, dropping to 20 FPS in the default cessna 172, depending on scenery. I fly mainly GA aircraft, sometimes the heavy iron in the VC view. The only heavy iron I'm flying lately is the Dreamfleet 727, and this gets around the same FPS as the default 172!
Any information regarding my questions would be appreciated!

no worry about the fps.
The TrackIR 3 Pro takes 120 pictures of your position per second and gives a real smooth movement. The problem will be the movement in FS2004. If you turn your head very fast you will see some stutter in the FS2004 view, but it will be the same if you move you view with your joystick hat from full left to full right view. The normal view changes will be smooth at 20 fps.
I have my TrackIR 3 Pro since a few weeks and will never fly without it. It's the best additions to flight siming you currently can get. Esp. the additional Vector Expansion should make it to a must have feature (Orderd my and hope to get it this week).
So no problem with fps around 20.

Re: FS2004 Refresh Rates & FPS
I think Jon-Kyle was asking if additional computation nedded by Vector will cause FPS drop. Somewhere on this forum I found a claim that TrackIR 4.0 software with Vector uses 1-2% of processor cycles...

Re: FS2004 Refresh Rates & FPS
I have never noticed a drop in FPS from TrackIR use, including TrackIR3 + Vector.
There is a 'bug' floating around that affects a very very small amount of users that has an FPS hit after 45 minutes of flying. It is very rare and being worked on right now between those affected and NP programmers.
You have nothing to worry about.
