TIR-3 Pro Y Axis problem - help!

Post by Firestorm07 »

Greetings,

Excellent product, Got it a couple of days ago, set it up just fine, made my own profile, working great with Pacific Fighters, already getting used to it and enjoying the immersion experience!

But:

Whatever I do, I just cant get the Y axis to move as smoothly as the X Axis. The little yellow dot on the motion grid moves very smoothly in the X but in the Y, it staggers up and down as if each grid square is divided into three pixel positions.

I experience this in both relative and absolute modes. To describe it a little better, in Mouse emulation mode, the pointer moves accross my monitor smoothly in the horizontal but in the vertical it moves accross the screen as if it's snapping to a 20 step incremental grid.

I think that this issue is probably not profile or game related because it's the same regardless of which profile I load.

I also think that the issue is probably not tracking related because the unit is showing the dot just fine on the black tracking screen, the distance from the unit is good and the dot moves almost 3/4 of the camera view.

For your info:

Pentium4 2000 CPU
1GB RAM
ATI Radeon 9550 GPU
Win XP SP1 (fully updated)
TIR-3 Pro
Serial 23418
Driver V3.12

Any help or clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I'm having the same problem but in the Pitch mode.

No matter how I adjust it, I have lots of up motion but very little down.

The only way I can get more down is to look up a little before pressing the F12 (center) key; problem with that is I then have to hold my head in an un-natual position to have both up and down motion.

Another similar problem...

Yaw mode is flaky... I can look full right ok but when going to full left the head almost always flips upside down and will not return to normal upright position.

Needless to say I have to use the F12 (center) key a LOT.
