DCS and stability not great.

Post by ineedhelp »

Hello! If you are reading this I would like to thank you first. But, I have a problem with TrackIR. The stability on TrackIR is pretty bad for me. I have watched countless Youtube videos of people playing DCS with TrackIR and the smoothness is near perfect. When I look around about 0 - 50 degrees it is pretty good. Then, when I start really turning my head (slowly as well) around 0 - 180 degrees it starts glitching like crazy. I really need this to work because I need to be able to steadily look at my instruments in DCS World. I am using the TrackClip Pro. Also I noticed that only the left yellow-ish green light is lit up if that's a problem. My second problem is that it wont even work in DCS. I open the software in the background and load in the game and it just wont work. I am very disappointed in TrackIR at the moment because I already came across other issues like having a too slim monitor and the mount won't fit. I will be VERY grateful if somebody will help me. Thank you so much.

PS: I have not adjusted any of the settings in the TrackIR software except for smoothness and speed.

Hello ineedhelp,

I am happy to help you. First, what are your current settings for speed and smoothing? I would try setting Speed to 2 and Smooth to 10 and comparing how the movement appears to a Speed setting of 1. You want the movement on the screen to be somewhat exaggerated compared to how much you are moving your head. That way you can get a greater range of motion in the game without turning your head all the way to the side (as it would be hard to see the display from this position). Because of the nature of the LEDs in the TrackClipPro, if you turn your head too far in either direction, the camera won't be able to see them.

I would also make sure that your camera is positioned on the left side of your display (not centered) so that it is in line with your TrackClipPro, which should be mounted on the left side of your headset.

The left green LED on the camera indicates that the camera is detecting the three LEDs on the TrackClip Pro. If that light flickers, then it is likely that either one or more of the LEDs is no longer in view of the camera, or some other object is reflecting infrared light to the camera. You can confirm this by right click on the view port and selecting camera view so you can see whether the LEDs are being tracked correctly or whether there is some sort of interference.

The right green LED on the camera indicates that a TrackIR-Enhanced game is running. Please make sure to start the TrackIR software first, then DCS World. You may also need to start both of them as an Administrator so that they can communicate correctly with each other.

Our mount can be used on monitors as thin as 1/2". If your monitor is thinner than that, you may want to put a small piece of foam between the back leg and the monitor to help support it. You may need to completely lower the back leg of the mount to a near 90 degree angle. Place it on the back of the monitor, and then push the two front legs of the mount all the way apart against the front to hold it in place.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Kind Regards,
