Hi...
I want to move from version 3.x of the software to version 4.x (I have TrackIR 3 pro but not the vector expansion).
Would the following sequence be correct:
1) uninstall 3.x drivers
2) disconnect the hardware
3) install 4.x
4) reconnect the hardware
Thanks
move from 3 to 4
Re: move from 3 to 4
Ricob, almost:)
I would sugest that you:-
1) Unplug the TIR
2) Uninstall the 3.x drivers with Add/Remove Programs
3) Delete the Natural Point folder in C:/Programs
4) Reboot
5) Install 4.xx
6) Plug in the TIR (I would suggest a different port and not through a Hub.)
That is the least problematic way of doing it.
A little tip, if you uninstall any driver delete the old directory and reboot. The reboot is important as the drivers are still in memory so there is a chance that the drivers in memory could be mixed with the new one. Deleting the directory prior to reinstalling stops any possible links in the regestry from partly loading the old driver, as sometime some links are left in the regestry.
