Is Pause button mapping necessary?

With no use for it in Lock-On 1.1 I disabled the Pause button. I had thought that disabling it would give TIR Pro a permenant "on" with no way to pause but instead it results in a permenant "Pause" with no way to turn it on except to remap the unwanted "Pause" button.

Any way around this? If needed I don't mind editing the registry.
