Need Additional Info Before Purchase

Hi, I'm contemplating purchasing TrackIR3 Pro but am not sure what else is required from NaturalPoint so the features in the device will work as intended.

In addition to the device, what else do I need, and what functionality do they bring? :
1. Rings (sold in pairs)
2. Dots (sold 52 to a sheet)
3. Raw Material ( 1 x 1 strip)
4. Mounting clips (sold in pairs)

I believe I can get-by without the hat (have several) and the USB extension cable, a Wal-Mart purchase, but do I need items 1-4 above to make the 3-Pro work?

Thanks unclelud, that price is better than the home-boys. I'll probably need the mounting clips since I have a narrow 19" TFT monitor.

TIR will work right out of the box as it comes with a sheet of dots. TIR with out the Vector will not give you 6DOF but it will still allow you to look up/down left/right in supported games.

Thanks for the response, Barred. I thought 3-Pro would get me 6DOF, but it looks like more dollars to get the Vector expansion. May total to around $200 for the device to work as I'd like.

Guys, you've been very helpful, I just purchased the TrackIR 3 Pro with Vector Expansion from Magnum PC and am awaiting its delivery.

I noticed scanning some messages on this forum about updating the software on my device. Any suggestions on which version to update to? Do you update sequentially, or can you update directly to the latest or most efficient version?

Tony, do not bother with the CD, just download the latest. I have never had trouble from the public betas so I would just download the newest.

Run the driver before plugging the TIR in and keep it on it's own USB port (no hub).

Try having 20-26" between vector and camera and have the camera a couple of inches higher than the top reflector. If you are finding some eratic head movements when looking down just push our cap further back on your head.
