Problems With Freeze Up
Problems With Freeze Up
I just received my Track IR 3 Pro. I do not have Vector Expansion. Its working good and then sometimes I'll look away from the monitor real quick and it freezes up and the screen is gray. I'm not sure if it is the ceiling of the aircraft because it looks like texture. In any case it freezes up. Sometimes it comes back on and sometimes not. What is happening?
Re: Problems With Freeze Up
Hi MSW, with just the one dot going out of the camera's range there is a chance that it (the camera) can lose track and the speed can sometimes lock the driver. If that happens alt-tab out and restart the TIR software, the game will still see the TIR because it was running when you started the game.
Are you trying the latest drivers of http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/06- ... nuals.html ?
As for the texture I am not sure about.

Re: Problems With Freeze Up
I'm still having problems. When I go from 2D view to VC view Track IR locks up everytime. It looks like it locks up looking back or up, I can't tell. I push F12 to center it which it does but then the Track IR doesn't move when I move my head. I then have to take off my hat and flash it real close to the scanner to get it to move which then knocks the picture out of wack and I then have to hit F12 again to recenter it. What the hell? This happens everytime I go from 2D to VC and it is really taking away any joy I might have had with the Track IR. I shouldn't have to go through all of this everytime I change views.
Re: Problems With Freeze Up
It sounds like you are using it with FS2004 possibly?
Are you connecting the TrackIR to a port other then the rear USB ports on your computer? And have you tested in any other games?

Re: Problems With Freeze Up
I'm using it on FS2004. And I have it in the correct USB slot on the back of the PC. What is happening is when in 2D view I will look at a manual or something which apparently takes the dot out of range of the scanner which apparently locks it up. So when I return to VC it is locked up. When I go back and forth from 2D to VC but keeping my head so the dot does not go out of range it comes up OK in the VC. I can do the same thing by looking down while in the VC and I get the same lockup.
To get it going again in VC I have found that by leaning forward much closer to the scanner and wiggling my head alot causes it to pick up the dot again and then I'm back in business. Wierd. Why can't I do that without having to get closer to the scanner?
Is this normal? I have not tried it on any other games.
